Every rig comes fully equipped with camping essentials: fridge/freezer, kitchen setup, awning, water system, and recovery kit. You only need to bring your own bedding, pots and pans and consumables. There are options to include bedding and pots/pans when needed.

Yes. The Genie includes a foldable solar panel, shore input, a geyser, and a water tank.The Edge Out includes a fixed solar panel, shore input, inverter for AC power, geyser, water tank, shower cubicle, and 270°awning.Additional battery boxes are available to rent.

All our rigs are tested before every trip. Each rental includes a basic recovery kit, and we’re always just a phone call away. For remote trips, a satellite communicator can be included on request. All our trailers and vehicles are fully insured for cross border travel.

Pickups are available in Benoni (Johannesburg/Gauteng). Delivery service is available around Johannesburg and to all major airports.

Suzuki Jimny + Metalian Genie - Only a Code B license required. Edge Out - Requires a Code EB license to tow.

Drivers must be 21 years or older with a valid driver's license.

No - all our rentals include unlimited kilometers. You're free to roam as far as you journey takes you.

Yes. We offer airport pickup and drop-off in Johannesburg, Nelspruit, George, Upington and Cape Town. This is ideal for international travelers who want a seamless start to their trip.

Yes. We offer hiking, camping, fishing and overlanding gear as standalone rentals. If you need something we almost always have it!

Absolutely. We can help design a complete journey with our in house planner. From weekend escapes to multi country expeditions. This includes suggested routes, campsite bookings, park permits, and even optional extras like a satellite communicators for off-grid safety.For international clients we offer a full planning package for your next Africa tour! No stress, just arrive and everything is planned and ready to go! Our planner works directly with you before and during your trip.

Yes, the Jimny is off road capable. The Genie and Edge Out is suited for gravel roads but not deep sand/water and rock crawling.

A deposit is required to secure and confirm your booking. Once a booking has been confirmed, the dates and equipment are reserved specifically for you and may no longer be available to other customers.Our refund policy is as follows:Cancellation more than 30 days before the booking start dateThe booking deposit will be refunded in full.Applicable booking fees will be refunded, subject to the exceptions below. Cancellation 30 days or less before the booking start date50% of the booking deposit will be retained as a cancellation fee.The remaining 50% of the deposit will be refunded.Applicable refundable fees will be refunded, subject to the exceptions below. Cancellation within 14 days of the booking start dateThe booking deposit is non-refundable.Booking fees are also non-refundable. International & Planning BookingsBookings involving international customers or significant trip-planning services provided by Ridge & Roam may be subject to additional cancellation conditions.Where our team has already undertaken substantial trip planning, itinerary preparation, route planning, campsite research, booking assistance, or other personalised planning services, fees relating to services already provided are non-refundable.Any third-party costs, reservations, permits, campsite bookings, activities, or other services that have already been paid for or committed on your behalf may also be non-refundable, depending on the terms of the relevant provider.Where possible, Ridge & Roam will make reasonable efforts to resell cancelled dates or existing bookings.
